...and we bought it sight unseen. We're crazy, right? Perhaps!

Evan and I have been keeping a close eye on the housing market in Lincoln, Nebraska, since January. Once I got the official news of my acceptance to graduate school in late February, we began taking our hunt a bit more seriously. One problem: we were in San Francisco, so actually seeing the houses wasn't going to happen. Luckily, my dear parents live in Lincoln and visited numerous houses for us throughout the process.
On Mother's Day back in May, my parents met with our realtor for a big house tour parade visiting many houses! We FaceTimed with them throughout the day, so it kind of felt like we were there. :) We also had the online listings that included the details and more pictures of the houses.
One house in particular stood out to us. We had a list of wants/needs + their priorities. This house matched almost everything we needed/wanted (the only thing missing was a wood-burning stove/fireplace...which was obviously a "want" so not a deal breaker).
That night we put an offer on the house. We went back and forth a couple times with the seller...but got the great news late that evening that our offer was accepted.
Holy crap! We're so excited.
It's a cute little brick ranch that was built in 1955. We absolutely wanted an older house and are so happy this all worked out. It's in great condition and most of the projects we have planned are smaller, personal customization ones...the fun projects in our opinion!
The house will be quite bare for a while, since we hardly have any furniture. Remember, we lived in a studio in San Francisco, so we've been living the simple life! The basement will probably remain pretty empty for a few months. The upstairs has a living room, bathroom, two bedrooms (one will be an office) and the kitchen...so I'm assuming most of our "living" will be done up there.
One of the things I'm most excited about is having a backyard for Reyna. She deserves some space of her own! Just check out that photo above...she is one happy dog!
I promise to share house photos soon!
