dinner at zero zero.

What a weekend! Evan and I packed up our belongings on Friday, and now our entire life is currently making its way across the US. We used ABF U-Pack for the second time (we first used ABF when we moved from Nebraska to Maryland back in 2009). It was an exhausting Friday night, but we're happy to have that part of the move done!

On Saturday our dear friends, Drea and Cory, treated us to a farewell dinner/drinks. We went to Zero Zero, which might be one of my favorite restaurants ever!

Drea snapped this pic of me and my love.

I enjoyed a glass of Sangiovese, and we shared the stuffed squash blossoms as an appetizer. Ohhh, the stuffed squash blossoms! They were stuffed with a ricotta/mascarpone mix and topped with a fresh corn relish. Unbelievably divine!

For my entree, I selected:  Little Shells, Grilled Corn, Guanciale (cured pork cheek), Basil, Black Pepper, Pecorino, Sweet Corn Carbonara, Espellette Breadcrumbs. If I could eat this pasta dish for every meal for the rest of my life, I would have no complaints!

Finally, you can't go to Zero Zero and not order the soft-serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. For good measure, we had ricotta doughnuts on the side. I just can't!

We were absolutely stuffed by the end of dinner. Great food, great wine and great friends! We're going to miss Drea and Cory but are excited for them to visit us in Nebraska for a football game!
