back to school.

I have been keeping a secret for way too long and am way too excited to share the news:  I have been accepted into an AMAZING graduate program and will be heading back to school this fall!

I will be in the Student Affairs Graduate Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln working toward my Master of Arts in Educational Administration, specializing in Student Affairs.

As I've discussed on here before, I currently work for a scholarship program serving underserved youth in San Francisco. While I've always thought about a career in higher education, my time with the scholarship program has confirmed every one of my desires. I am honored that I get to make a career out of helping young people realize and achieve their goals. I will be attending school full-time, as well as working part-time as a graduate assistant with an honors academy on campus. I know it's going to be an interesting transition leaving my full-time job...but I am so excited for this new adventure.

I am thrilled to move back to my home state but obviously a bit sad to leaving California. I will miss the weekend trips to wine country, hikes through the foothills, the insanely delicious food and many dear friends that we've come to know and love. I am truly looking forward to being surrounded by family in Nebraska though!

Evan and I have a lot of decisions to make in the coming months as we figure out our plan. He's been nothing but supportive, and I cannot thank him enough for encouraging me throughout this process.

One thing is for certain:  I am so ready for Husker football this fall! GO BIG RED!

  1. so excited for you (and evan too, of course)! i'm also excited for myself because lincoln is so much closer to kc!!

  2. Again, so happy for you to be living near your family again and of course, attending fall football games! There's just something about football on the west coast that doesn't quite feel right to me ;)

Excited to follow you along this journey (i.e. don't stop blogging!)
