my 2014 reading list.

As I mentioned on Sunday, I want to read more books in the coming year. I finally got a library card back in September, and I've only checked out two books since then. Not cool!

I spent some time browsing Amazon's top book lists and put together my own list of books I plan to read in 2014.

I'm currently reading Divergent and really enjoying it -- can't wait to read the other two books in the series. I'm also excited for Sarah Jio's books; The Last Camellia came out in 2013, and I believe Morning Glory will be published this spring. I adore Jio's style of writing!

Have you read any of these books? Any book recommendations you'd like to make? Let me know!

Cheers!

  1. You are going to love Mindy's book! Such a fun fast read!

I remember you mentioning Sarah Jio's books in another blog post and I got hooked on her after that. The Last Camilia is just simply haunting. I have goosebumps thinking about it - you'll love it! She also has Morning Glory out and I need to read next.

I thought the Divergent storyline was a lot more thought-provoking than The Hunger Games. Cannot wait to see the movie.

Books make me giddy. Tangent over.

    1. YES! So glad you like Sarah Jio as much as I do. CANNOT wait to read her latest books. I'm so close to finishing Divergent -- this silly thing called work is slowing me down. :)

  2. That's a great list! I'm going to suggest a classic written by a talented Nebraska author: My Antonia by Willa Cather. I read it this summer, and it is an excellent book. Very easy to read. I've heard that Yes, Chef: A Memoir by Marcus Samuelsson is really good! Happy reading!

  4. Thanks for sharing this list! Towards the end of last year, I read the entire Divergent series, A Fault in Our Stars, and The Husband's secret and loved them all. :)

If you like personal development/psychology type books, I highly recommend Daring Greatly by Brene Brown. She's been a TED speaker 2 or 3 times now and was an instant success. Great read!
