First of all, if you have a dog and a blog, you will NOT want to miss Wednesday's post. I'm starting a new feature here called Wag Wednesday, and I want you to be part of it!

We have now lived in San Francisco for about 15 months, and I just got a library card. Why it took me so long, I'll never know. Better late than...well, you know the saying!

Anyway, I signed up today and checked out two books! I absolutely love reading and haven't read too many books this past year, which is sad. I think the fact that we live in a studio apartment has prevented me from purchasing new books...there's no space. Oh yeah, and books cost money (dang budget!)...except at a library.

Again, I'm embarrassed that I didn't get a card sooner. It could be that Parks & Rec is getting to me, and I've just been subconsciously boycotting the library. You fellow P&R fans will get that!

Regardless, here are the books I checked out:

The first is Comfort Food by Kate Jacobs. I read her other book, The Friday Night Knitting Club, a few years ago and loved it. Hoping for much of the same! I also got One Day by David Nicholls. I've heard amazing things about this book and cannot wait to dig in. I think I'll start with this one!

Now that I have unlimited books on demand, what should I read? Please share your recs!

  1. I live like RIGHT next to a library so I should totally use it more! I love anything by Oliver Sacks!

  2. Libraries are awesome and a place I could spend hours at browsing for new reads. For me they're like supermarkets: I plan on getting one item/book - and walk out with a pile of them.
One Day is a great choice. Others I'd recommend are Chris Cleave's ('Little Bee' and 'Gold'), 'Special Topics in Calamity Physics' by Marisha Pessl and 'The Sisters' by Nancy Jensen. There are way too many good books but these are some of the best I've read in past years.
