Hey, friends!
I just got back from a 35-minute tempo run that was scheduled for today as part of my 10k training - it felt great! Since I don't have a fancy shmancy Garmin, I can't give you the exact details of my pace (though according to Gmap-Pedometer, I ran 3.4 miles). Here's what I can give you:
- 10 minutes - jog
- 15 minutes - faster than a jog
- 10 minutes - jog
That's exact science, I tell ya! :)
I made a recovery smoothie that I'm enjoying now - looks as white as snow!
Post-Run Recovery Smoothie
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/2 frozen banana
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
It tastes delicious after my hot run!
Let's rewind to earlier today...
Check out that dino kale salad I enjoyed as part of my lunch.
Summer Dino Kale Salad
- organic dino kale from our CSA
- organic cucumbers from our CSA
- organic tomatoes from our CSA
- champagne vinaigrette and sunflower seeds from...Trader Joe's :)
It was super refreshing and crisp - loved it!
Alright, I'm off to chug some water and start preparing dinner (pasta w/ pesto!).
Have you ever trained for a race?! Any tips?
