The San Francisco Bay Area is home to the best sandwich place in the world. No joke.
Ike's Place was even featured on the Food Network (Man Vs. Food AND The Best Thing I Ever Ate). See? I wasn't joking about its amazingness!
My favorite sandwich is [Favorite Sesame Street Character]. When you order this, you actually have to name your favorite Sesame Street character! I always roll with Elmo but say "Oscar the Grouch," if I'm feeling sassy.
This sandwich features cucumbers, avocado, lettuce, tomato, pesto and cream cheese (+ onions, pickles & hot peppers if you ask!). Let me repeat: pesto AND cream cheese. It's a delightful combination!
Evan and I don't buy potato chips to have at home, but we always order them when we stop at Ike's. The Dirty Potato Chips in Funky Fusion are unbelievable - just a random assortment of spices, and they are delicious!
The best thing about Ike's, however, comes at the end of the meal...
They give you a Caramel Apple Sucker with every sandwich! How cool is that?! We stopped at Ike's yesterday after our 3-mile run, and dang! It hit the spot!
Have you ever been to a restaurant that's been featured on TV?
Besides Ike's - I've also been to Dangerously Delicious Pies. In fact, I was at the taping of the show, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, when it was featured!
