A Tradition Unlike Any Other

Excuse me if I seem a little off sorts today...The Masters started, and that's where my mind has been all.day.long! Most of you probably don't know that I'm a little obsessed with The Masters. I get it from my father...


You better believe I'm friends with my dad on Facebook! I grew up looking forward to April every year, as our family would spend 4 glorious days keeping up on the most prestigious golf tournament. Both my parents are avid golfers, so my sister and I were basically raised on the golf course. My parents have even been to The Masters down in Georgia a few times - I'm still jealous they didn't take me with them. Anyway, this is the happiest weekend of the year to me!

Now I understand that some people think golf is boring (gasp!), so how about we spice this post up a bit with some of Chocolate Covered Katie's fudge babies (also similar to larabars, as they use nuts & dates)!


Y'all these are amazing. Dates, cashews, vanilla & cocoa powder. That. Is. It!

I followed Katie's original recipe - I just cut it in half and used cashews instead of walnuts. Into the food processor went 1/2 cup cashews, 2/3 cup pitted medjool dates, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla & two tablespoons cocoa powder. 

Process until well combined and roll into balls. I stored mine in the fridge, and they had the perfect texture! They honestly taste like a decadent chocolate truffle.


Evan and I finished the fudge babies in no time, so we had to make another batch! This time we tried her peanut butter babies. I didn't think they could get any better...wrong! This pb version is out of this world.


1/3 cup roasted peanuts, 2/3 cup pitted medjool dates and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. It's hard to believe that those three ingredients taste JUST like peanut butter cookie dough - but they do.
