My heart is so happy and feels so loved today.
I am the luckiest girl in the world. Thank you all for your kind birthday messages via facebook, twitter, emails & blog comments.
When the clock struck twelve last night, Evan lit 24 candles on my coconut cake.
|Eek! Terrible candle lighting!|
Make a wish!
This cake is so darn delicious! At the last minute, I made one minor change to the recipe. Instead of using light rum in the icing, I used vanilla. Here is the recipe from Sunset magazine.
Because I'm super proud of myself, here are some more pictures of the cake!
Right when I woke up this morning, Evan had me open my present from him.
When I saw Fishs Eddy on the box, I got very excited. When I read the latest Cooking Light a few weeks ago, I came across a product page featuring glass bowls from Fishs Eddy. I remember pointing them out to Evan but didn't think anything about it.
Look at those retro bowls! They even have lids, so they'll be used to store leftovers also. I am so in love with them!
I know I said yesterday that I was going to eat cake this morning - hello, birthday! But after seeing these fabulous bowls, I decided to stick with my morning yogurt and put one of them to use!
Honey Greek yogurt, blueberries, homemade cashew granola and chia seeds.
Alright, so I'm off to work. Tonight...champagne is on the agenda! Thank you again for being so, so sweet.
