This is the second post of the series, Cali Tour. I'll be sharing stories & pictures from my parents' visit here in California. To read the first post (Stanford's Memorial Church), click here.
The second day of my parents' vacation out here involved a little trip up to San Francisco. My dad had been looking forward to seeing Alcatraz and bought our tickets in advance through Alcatraz Cruises.
We had a few minutes to spare before loading our boat out to Alcatraz Island, so we grabbed a coffee and tried to contain our excitement!

View from the front of the boat: Alcatraz Island! |
We walked up winding paths to get to the main prison building. We grabbed our headphones and started on an audio tour of the prison.
Can you imagine?!
Seeing cell beyond cell was kind of creepy. Just thinking about people behind those bars and the reason why they were there - definitely gave me the heebie-jeebies! It freaked me out even more when I saw pictures of some of the more famous inmates!
Eek!
The views from the island were absolutely breathtaking though - so, so gorgeous!

History fan? Yay or nay?
I love it all - secret societies & government conspiracies are my favorite! :)
